What took them so long? Cisco's presence at USWest has been known for a long time. I believe they actually bought the
NN switches in order to get the account.

It was highly publcized about 1 1/2 years ago. NN presence at US West was and is small, and company is still selling few millions a quarter, but may be not to the network CSCO has bougth.
It is easy to buy small network, but imposible with very large like BT,ATT SBC,C&W, not counting performance.
In the case of MCI, old 36150 was removed but not 36170.
What has happened, relatively small amount of 36170 was shipped to MCI newtork against original contract(fall 97).

The question is for how long WORLDCOM can effort to have such messy network. I should said, network of networks.
