That fab story is longest of long shots I have heard recently. The memory uptick seems to be a short term thing caused by Compaq and other players deciding to change the minimum memory configuration from 32M to 64M just when the PC business was picking up. And, could be undone if the OEMs change their mind or as the capacity moves to finer process.
