Seems to me, even if foreigners didn't have a large stake in our markets -- nobody here would be content to simply have appreciating assets -- they want to spend like they are rich, too ... that has to cause the end of the game at some point, too.

oh -- just noticed the Thurow post -- I think he is as dumb as he looks. I've seen him on NBR a few times ...

The yen hit 103.25 overnight, don't you think they're already starting to "vote with their feet?" Do you see long rates getting over 6.5%?

Have you taken a look at puts on such high flying telecosmic stocks as Nextlink (NXLK)? Craig McCaw is so free with other people's money that he's willing to shell out over $60 million a quarter to service his 12.2% trash bonds while spending the rest like a drunken sailor. The cash flow situation for this company is so poor I think their only hope is to be bought out by Pa Bell.
