Hello, Jon;
Good to talk with you. Your'e not alone. Most of us at some point in time, begin to wonder just what purpose we have in life.

I scrambled many years for what I thought would bring me happiness. I was strictly a materialistic, put self first slob. Once I had most of those things, I discovered that material things did not bring me happiness or a sense of accomplishment.

The real thing, is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. You do not have to be good enough, or pure enough before you can invite him into your life. He does all the work. You simply must learn to trust him with your life and then accept what ever happens as his will for you.

Its not all peaches and cream. God does not promise us an end to our problems, only that he will supply us with our needs and the strength to face anything that this world will bring our way.

What do we receive from him? Eternal life, peace of mind, joy, strength to do what he expects of us.

Check this out.......

"Lately I've been searching for the meaning of life"

"Can someone tell what the hell I am doing here?:

Hi Jon,
God created man for fellowship and love. Because of sin, man has become disoriented and has lost his fellowship with his creator. We are born biologically alive, but spiritualy dead. God sent Jesus His Son to remove our sins and restore us to fellowhip with the Father. Without Christ, we are not fully human. We lack the spiritual image of God within our souls. This is what causes our confusion and disorientation.

God created you for eternal love and fellowship. Through faith in Christ Jesus, God restores our sonship and fellowship.

'If you confess Jesus as the Son of God and Saviour with your mouth, and believe in your heart that God the Father has raised Him from the dead, you will become a Son of God'and experience the love and fellowship of God that you seek in your confusion.

May God our eternal Father give you the grace to seek Him with all your heart. If you do, you will find Him and yourself!

Emile

Jon K.

There was a Preacher , who was the son of David------

Eccl 1:1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.

This Preacher had evidently seen and done everything-----

Eccl. 1:13-14a I devoted myself to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven. What a heavy burden God has laid on men! I have seen all the things that are done under the sun;

and, by the looks of it,had everything he desired.-----

2v4 I built houses for myself and planted vineyards.
2v6 I made reservoirs to water groves of flourishing trees.
2v8 I amassed silver and gold for myself,
2v9 I became greater by far than anyone in Jerusalem before me.

Yet his thought?-----

2v11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.

And after all....his conclusion-----

Eccl. 12:13-14 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

We are to be brought into judgment. And you know what?

Romans 4: 24b-5:1---for us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ..

God sent One to save us so----

5v6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

I guess I went a long way around to say that whether my life is short or long, rich or poor, all still belongs to Him and I will try to live with that in mind.

Said better, of course, by Job----

Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. Job 1:21

Have a good evening

EDIT: I know you may think this is a canned answer, but to me it is said as well as I could say it. To put it in my own words SHORT version, is PEACE that passes my understanding.
