Jon K. There was a Preacher , who was the son of David------ Eccl 1:1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem. This Preacher had evidently seen and done everything----- Eccl. 1:13-14a I devoted myself to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven. What a heavy burden God has laid on men! I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; and, by the looks of it,had everything he desired.----- 2v4 I built houses for myself and planted vineyards. 2v6 I made reservoirs to water groves of flourishing trees. 2v8 I amassed silver and gold for myself, 2v9 I became greater by far than anyone in Jerusalem before me. Yet his thought?----- 2v11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun. And after all....his conclusion----- Eccl. 12:13-14 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. We are to be brought into judgment. And you know what? Romans 4: 24b-5:1---for us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.. God sent One to save us so---- 5v6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. I guess I went a long way around to say that whether my life is short or long, rich or poor, all still belongs to Him and I will try to live with that in mind. Said better, of course, by Job----Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. Job 1:21 Have a good evening EDIT: I know you may think this is a canned answer, but to me it is said as well as I could say it. To put it in my own words SHORT version, is PEACE that passes my understanding. dan
