I think Yahoo Japan was over Yen 60 million. Limited issue shares can go nuts. 9984 will have its day in the sun as well given its issue base and pentup Japan mania instinct. I like what my Sony is doing during a down Japanese market and a rising Yen environment ... what would happen when the trends reverse so that Yen drops (lots more export) and market rises? Now at $ 148, up 11 yesterday. The 128 bit procesored Playstation II basic unit released in Japan first will sell for less than US$ 400 at current exchange rate (for a Jurassic Park level super computer!!!). Add-on accessories includes DVD (play movies and certain other high resource requirement games - all those diosks to sell, upgrades, extensions, cross selling!), internet port (allowing for massive participation games on Sony's PAID site), and additional doodads to wire the home for appliacnce control and interactive games. It's a Sony ... goodbye any other brand of television, game machine and most likely even some Wintels (especially the second PC unit)! Definitely accumulate on weakness. Sony can be competitive at high Yen levels, given electronic production are easily sourced from Japan's neighbors. We are not talking about steal mills and shipyards. Announcement of progress (even with delay news) is simply a way to fend off the competition by slowing adoption rate for competing units. Killing softly with words. The machine is simply amazing. Get yourself some PC Game magazines and sense the anticipation.
