<<Q: Do you believe stocks are undervalued? There was an
article about the Dow rising to 36,000. What do you think?
A: Actually there are a variety of rising expectations for the Dow. Not
only do we have the 36,000 story, but we also have one forecasting
40,000 and another predicting 100,000. The common element to all of
these forecasts is that stocks are a reasonable measure of the success
of the U.S. economy and as time passes, stock prices reflect how well
this economy expands, how much living standards grow, and the
confidence Americans have about the future. So given the great global
opportunity that exists today and America's technology leadership, this
economy should perform above average for some time to come, which
would lead me to conclude that stock prices are still cheap when
looking at a very bright future for the U.S. economy.>>
