Be thankful they didn't attack the Blessed Sacrament and throw all the hosts on the ground and stomp them and spit on them. That is what they did at St. Patrick's in New York.

<<Well, having never attended one, I cannot relate to the feelings you get from marching in the Gay Pride parades.>>

Then go to one and see what it is all about. Meet the people and talk to them. I have been to 4 pride parades and I am still straight so I can assure you that it won't make you gay if you associate with gays.

<<But I do feel, especially if I were a parent of a gay child, that the "loonies" marching in those parades, even if a minority, do a grave disservice to gays>>

Name a large group that does not have their loonies. Read this thread and all the insults being passed out lately and tell me that these are not loonies doing a disservice to their respective groups. Also are you sure these people were marching in the parade or just spectators?

<<It is not valid to dismiss the behavior as some kind of equalling of the score with straights.>>

As long as they are not hurting anyone who cares how they act. Do straights ever get drunk and rowdy and do things not accepted by society. Yes they do. But here you want to control their behavior and make sure they do not act gay. Are you of the school that it is ok to be gay as long as you don't act gay?

<<It's simply a matter of flaunting their lifestyle in the faces of not-so-hip straight America.>>

This sounds like a personal problem to me. Are you jealous that you are not as hip as the gay crowd?

<<at a Catholic ordination in Boston a while back, a gay group called ACT UP disrupted the service by storming the church and the hugging the newly ordain priests dressed in wedding gowns and "birthday suits".>>

I agree that this should not have been done. However when the church tells you that you are going to burn in hell for eternity for being the person that you are, will that person give respect to that institution. I don't think so.

<<newly ordain priests dressed in wedding gowns and "birthday suits".>>

Were the newly ordained priests really dressed like that? LOL Sorry I could not resist.
