They claim that 80% of IBM machines have Oracle databases.

They said 80% of IBM's Unix machines ship with an Oracle database. They still face a stiff challenge from IBM's db2 on IBM mainframes -- which is where IBM's recent database strength has been coming from. Microsoft doesn't compete in that market. IBM's SQL, DB2, is available on Unix, but Microsoft's product is not.
