Junk hurts...

''Everybody expected a huge onslaught of issuance in September,'' said Martin Fridson, chief high-yield strategist at Merrill Lynch & Co. ''They've been proven devastatingly wrong.''

Not a single corporation has issued high-yield debt in September. This, after an August that saw several issuers pull planned issues because of insufficient demand.
