It was, and there was some good back and forth (still is), which is ideal imo - but you'd have to ask c.horn. I think its a pretty good thread even now, but only as long as a few posters are completely ignored. If we get into these immature battles then its the same old same old.

There are 10 or so threads which are completely overrun by right wingers - these are : sanity thread, Bush thread, Clinton corruption thread, Waco thread, to some extent the JFK threads, etc. Lots and lots of places for these people to talk about god and whatever else they want to. Why bother coming on here and starting in with the "you are this, you are that" ranting? Its tiresome.

Personally, I think this thread could use a libertarian or two. Thorough contempt for liberalism, solid fiscal conservatism, and no superstitious gibberish.

Not that I agree with them on all points, but they always liven up a discussion. I hate it when crawling blindly backwards in search of a romanticized past is presented as the only alternative to liberalism.
