I did not comment on your original post but since you brought it up again I will say something. Most if not all of the statements in your original post are correct. The economy is in a precarious position at this time and a tax cut could send us into an inflationary period. Which means higher interests rate and possibly a recession.

The fed tries to control inflation by adjusting the interest rates by .25% at a time. If they changed the interest rates by a whole percent at one time the impact would be dramatic. A 1 percent change in the taxes can also have a dramatic affect on inflation. Tax cuts stimulate the economy and at this time this economy does not need stimulating. Please read your ECON 101 text book again.
