You cannot make such sweeping generalizations esp. with
high beta stocks. KEY IS TIMING TIMING TIMING, AS WITH
STOCK! What if you're holding calls and stock/market
turns heads south...conversely, if you've sold naked calls
and market decides to go the other way. Long or short,
puts or calls, naked or covered, only thing that matters
is timing. Some folks made a killing going long on
Bre-X....QED.
IF winning and marketing are everything, TIMING is
the ONLY thing.
