Can we say "eugenicist
Say it! I can't even spell it.
are no more enlightening than some college dropouts
I expose the secrets of science because they are not secret and they do not depend on the good faith, trust, or integrity of the participants. Oh sure, they get an audience in the beginning, just like the Cold Fusion people. Nothing of signifigance gets past unless someone else can check it and agree with the results. It takes a wide conspiracy indeed for an idea to become "law" if it isn't so.

the only reason teaching evolution bothers me
Science is participatory. Every science student should have the "show me" attitude. Whatever the science teacher presents should be backed up by the original experiments in description, and at least some of those should be reproduced live for the students. If something bothers you, then ask or propose an alternative.

(Evolution) It's taught as a reality, not as a possibility.
The evidence is mounting, new proto-humans are found all the time. If the creationists want in on the game they need to gather some evidence. It's just not going to cut it to run all around Mt. Arafat looking for a chunk of wood that may have come from the Ark. Creation has some real implications in the fossil record and I just don't see the creationists looking for evidence. The evidence that other primates can learn language is not looking good for the creationists. The lesson of evolution is adapt or perish. It's just not going to cut it to say I read it in some 2000 year old book.
