Jacques I don't know what you know about the history of Oracle but they had an opportunity to dominate enterprise software on almost every level and failed. But that is ancient history. The fact that you bought the stock at 23 and it doubled is fine for you, but more a reflection of the upturn in enterprise software than anything specific about Oracle. Every other company manages their earnings and Oracle should have done that last q. They should have held something in reserves for this weak qtr if it was anticipated (and it should have been). As far as I'm concerned Sap and Siebel are leading the software sector in management and execution, not Oracle.

Guys, what rumor? There was heavy, heavy volume last week. Must have been institutional buying. It was not due to earnings. It was due to a bunch of moron institutions buying the stock or maybe there are other reasons out there that caused it to move up. I suggested that it looked like a buyout type scenario and the Board was convinced I was nuts. Convinced me that my suggestion had no merit. I have heard no good reason why the stock moved dramatically up over the last 2 weeks or so; especially since we now know ORCL quarterly earnings "SUCK".

Someone know anything?????????

Were the BIG BOYS buying last week uninformed????????

Just really an amazing situation. The only way this stock gets back to the high 40s in the near future is if IBM or some other Giant takes them out.

What was going on???? Just a Big Manipulation???? Must have been.

Pretty damn funny. I think it is time to start thinking SMALL (CAP GROWTH with low PEs). Maybe even oil and gas E&P companies.
