Is VARL supplying ETEK with any optical components as you mentioned they are to JDSU? As I understand, no. I mentioned before the components that VARL supplies JDSU manipulate optical signals into wireless signals to bring big bandwidth to the curbside. I am not aware that ETEK is putting together this sort of module. chipset for GSM phones which has overcome the "previous problems of Power Amplification and VCO interface implementation problems", they say. VARL does not make amplifiers. As to the GSM phone VCOs this is a market that VARL is trying to enter. However, they are trying to leverage their technology (no VCO interference here to worry about), rather than pricing, to move up stream into the more lucrative and advantageous broadband multifunction handsets.
