The only thing that relates to DRAMs that was in the link you provided was the above clip about Promos.

Are you trying to be dense?

Taiwan's chip and PC makers were still reeling late Friday after a major blackout rocked the island on Thursday, causing millions of dollars worth of damage and possible product disruptions in the supply chain.

What "chip" do you think they're talking about? Cow chips?

Robert Tsao, chairman of Taiwan's United Microelectronics Corp. (UMC), one of the world's largest IC-wafer foundry vendors, said the company would experience some delays in product shipments for August because of the untimely power outage. He did not elaborate.

Boy, I'm having trouble figuring out how this is related to the chip industry...

Officials from Taipower said until final repairs are made in about a month, residents and businesses -- including Hsinchu's semiconductor manufacturers -- must cut power consumption by 10 percent.

Not a day-long problem, but one about a month.

And the one thing you were able to pick out:

Promos Technology, a joint DRAM venture between Mosel-Vitelic and Infineon Technologies, plans to build its own power generator this summer in order to avoid future problems with Taipower, according to officials at the Hsinchu-based company.

The situation's so damn bad there that a chip maker has to build it's own power plant in order to operate. Could you even imagine a company having to take that sort of action here?
