Yeah, I suppose the High Middle Ages are a trifle romanticized. The looting and pillaging would have provided interesting diversion, though.

The 50s weren't as square as TV myth makes them out to be. There was good poetry, jazz, rock and roll was really rock and roll. Everything was groovin along until those four twits from Britain came over and ruined our good American music.
