Rupert, a while ago I questioned whether or not there could be a colo glut. The prospect of a bandwidth glut (which I happen not to subscribe to, btw) is omnipresent in trade publications (maybe appearing cyclically, like ragtime, whenever the journos need something to juice up their monthly pubs), why not consider that there might also be a colo glut. Some would classify this as one of those tragedy of the commons-like phenomena, like your statement implies:

"...virtually everyone with a piece of cable, a computer and a room with a padlock that they'll be entering the web hosting business.."

I don't have any strong convictions on this one way or the other, simply asking a question. Certainly, all colos and hosting sites were not created equal. Not by a long shot.

Regards, Frank Coluccio
