Kanetsu, your question is 'will DIS stock go up by January?' I felt like you do nearly 6 months ago and it has only declined. I dumped out after about 2 months of stagnant cash.

Disney has been plagued by disappointing decisions.

Yes, I agree about the opportunities in DVD. But you know Disney. . they will want to make it a really big deal and advertise that Cinderella is available for a limited time on DVD. . .then they will sell 20 million copies and cut everyone off. I don't know why they do it that way, nor why they weren't among the first to embrace DVD. . .

So one question is whether or not they will have their catalog available by Christmas. If I had to bet on that one, it would be "yes". They would be doing themselves a major disservice if they failed to go to market with DVD before Christmas. . . and I agree that this will be a big DVD Christmas.

However, DIS is a very big and diversified company that now owns big television, cable and media and is in the resort business. Pound for pound, the Disney resort biz is perhaps their biggest. . . and that has been dragging things down consistently. After you build something like EuroDisney. . .who can you sell it to, when it loses money?

Your assumption of a strong internet presence has also been a major disappointment. The SEEK/ Go Network was a 'me, too' portal, instead of incorporating the Disney user friendly design or even characters to give it a life of its own.

And the wonderful Disney Store retail stores were a smash when they came out, but are now fairly benign. . putting DIS in the bricks and mortar biz. . .yet they have all but ignored the internet for 'personalized' marketing of their vast array of products directly to the kids. The Disney store online and Go Network could have been something grand. Instead they are just something else.

So if I had to place odds on whether the stock DIS would rise like a Phoenix before your January deadline, I would give it even odds.
