Semi2000,

I may be off base but I doubt whether Cohu's BMS division is benefiting much from the internet growth. I think in either internet access direction telephone or "cable" TV the BMS division does not get involved. Their web site states "Broadcast Microwave Services designs and manufactures a comprehensive line of microwave communications equipment for televison broadcast, video, telemetry, and electronic surveillance applications." On the cable TV side at one point there was a lot of discussion about in larger cities that as true competition to the true "cable" companies that microwave cable service could compete due to their relatively low setup costs. They can't transmit that far but in a large well populated city they could have enough potential customers to work. I am not sure how that has gone but Cohu's sales from these non-semi-equip businesses has been pretty stagnant so I doubt whether they are getting much of a pickup in that direction.

It would of course be great news if one their smaller business units (metal detectors, cameras, or BMS) would hit on a big winner of a product. As it is I think we pretty much ride the semi-cycles. At this moment I believe we are going to be in for a good ride!

Good luck.
