Knee-jerk bid in the bonds and European indexes after the number is fading, leaving FTSE and DAX still negative on the day. Dow future has given up 1/2 of it's gains - showing +45 since yesterdays' close.

This data is not enough to lure the market (further <g>)into complacency, it would appear Everyone knows that with the oil price, CPI increases are a matter of time.

softechie what is so excellent??

The fact that this administration is screwing up all the social security recipents of a well deserved pay increase for which they worked all their life??

Even that I am long bonds it is a sad day as it proves that this administration is screwing again the released numbers.

Oh yes and just forgot to mention semi's will save the world.

I haven't seen it yet, but I "heard" that lower tobacco (cigarette) prices had a major impact on the core rate. LOWER tobacco prices?????? WHEEEEEEEEEEEEERE? Some places sell packs for FOUR BUCKS!
