I suspect that it is a policy shift to more "news" and "information" rather than "commentary" and "opinion."

Personally, I agree with you -- the best parts of Squawk Box from a watchibility standpoint were the opinions and the commentary, mixed as they were with the news. No humor or insight, even if they might be categorized as commentary or opinions, is BORING.

Hi Becki,

I thought it was just me and was too embarrassed to admit it...the guys do seem somewhat more subdued.

I hope everyone had a great summer.....I may be checking SI more often now that SI has told me how to make their print larger.....I was (like) going blind trying to read SI under the new format before They told me how to fix it.
