Jill, the options strategy i was planning did not pan out. Oracle just got stronger during the day. I had shorted only the stock and ended up covering with a loss of a point. Very puzzled that oracle held up in the same way as MSFT and INTEL. I was expecting it to tank especially since the markets went down. That is why i did not play puts on it.

Options expiration may be causing some strange market behavior (at least in my opinion). Instead of Oracle i am thinking of MSFT Sept 95 calls if the stock stabilizes in the morning. Of course only with lottery money type of amounts.

Oracle left me very puzzled. I still can't believe it.

BTW--on the bright side QCOM did well today---i unloaded almost half my position but plan to keep the balance ( ie my core holding)
