(BSNS WIRE) Laser Vision Centers, Inc. Announces Five Market Development
Laser Vision Centers, Inc. Announces Five Market Development Agreements;
Company Expects 20 Additional Contracts By End Of Fiscal Year

Business and Health Editors

ST. LOUIS--(BW HealthWire)--Sept. 17, 1999--LASER VISION CENTERS,
INC., (Nasdaq: LVCI) announced today that it has signed five
agreements under its newly developed market development program. The
market development program focuses on small- to mid-sized cities with
populations of approximately 300,000. The announced agreements cover
Brunswick and Savannah, Georgia; Westbrook, Maine; Lake Charles,
Louisiana; and Branson, Missouri.
Under the agreements LaserVision will provide excimer lasers,
marketing support, patient financing and an in-practice refractive
coordinator. In exchange, LaserVision receives the majority of the
patient fee, and contractually obligates the participating surgeon for
3-5 years.
The Company said that it would continue to offer its open access
model in other cities.
"We are pleased to announce the roll-out of this new program,"
LaserVision Chairman and CEO, John J. Klobnak said. "This is the first
of many agreements which we intend to sign with surgeons in similar
markets. We believe this program achieves two things. First, it
formally binds a surgeon to the LaserVision organization and second,
it increases the average selling price LaserVision receives on each
case which should increase our already strong revenue growth."
Laser Vision is one of the world's largest providers of excimer
lasers, related equipment and support services for the treatment of
nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

Except for historical information, statements relating to the
Company's plan, objectives and future performance are forward-looking

expectations. Because of various risks and uncertainties, actual
strategies and results in future periods may differ materially from
those currently expected. Additional discussion of factors affecting
the Company's business is contained in the Company's most recent
