>>Why did the whippersnappers push the sell button today? That is
my question. JFD

The Cpi report has caused a lot of bond traders to cover their shorts and the long bond is now up. However, although we had a strong opening with the Dow, the Nasdaq was up only slightly. This spelled troubled and the big boys took to the sell side. The money managers had better get it though their thick stupid heads that without benifit from the growth tech stocks the Dow is not going anywhere. Today is a case in point. The day is still young and we may have a better close. Stay tuned. Last night's reporting of Oracle's earnings was below the whisper number and that could have a negative on the techs. Microsoft is paying over a billion for some software graphics. I think they would do better to spend the money on building a large ship and put many of these crooked politicians on it and send them out to sea during the next hurricane.

The "Whippersnappers" might have sold because the dollar is trading at 104 yen and change. This is more indicative of a strong yen than a weak dollar though, so IMHO they were trigger happy.
