The local people have to be allowed to decide what their children learn

The tragedy in Kansas is that these fundamentalists are deciding what other people are learning.

We've had local incidents where the fundamentalists got together to run some candidates for the school board. Their support was not publicised (stealth candidate is what we call them now). Once elected they disrupted the school severely for a couple years until they were booted at the next election.

The kicker is, most of their supporters children didn't even go to the public schools. They were in bible day care and home schooling. They only wanted to damage the public schools so that could gain support for a voucher system to fund their own indoctrination camps.

I'm inclined to limit voting for school boards to those individuals who have children at the school.
