Nonsense. The maximum margins are gained in the ASIC business.

I think Qualcomm was trying to make a serious run at the infrastructure and handset markets.
Yes they did. As a consequence, they built up the CDMA market to beyond critical mass. They are also better at making ASIC's than
they were at making handsets or selling base stations. If anything,
it is these areas that QCOM understaffed and was 'run by Yahoos'.
