gv..."trends of inflation"

maybe, just maybe because oil is only traded in us dollar currency..........in the case of japan, as yen strengthens versus dollar, they intrinsically get a discount in crude purchase....conversely strong dollar allows producing nations to keep pricing at a lower point as they get a premium on currency conversion.....been going on for years...oil business understands...why not economists?

don't know why the dollar, oil,or anything else makes the experts so skitterish...perhaps because they don't really understand?

gv....economists very rarely correct......models never predict future trends....just a bunch of educated folks trying to make themselves appear useful....look at greenspans humphrey hawkins presentations for the past few years...believe he was about 30% off on his predictions...must be nice to be made into a savior and have such a large tolerated margin of error...
