I live in Seattle so I'm pretty familiar with the increase in housing prices. But look at the big picture - houses are just about the only thing that I don't buy cheaper today than I did a few years ago. I could make a long list, but things like books, computers, cameras, furniture, cars, software, travel, food, etc. are all cheaper or flat for many reasons not the least of which is the internet. For the most part, companies have NO pricing power because they will lose their market share if they increase.

BTW - AG is independently wealthy, and keeps all of his money in bonds (in a blind trust, I assume). Plus he's 72 so I doubt he cares if the price of his dream house is going up too fast.
