Robert, the fact remains that most of the nutz have not yet proven that they will be able to provide an adequate return on capital and remain extremely highly valued. this leaves no room for disappointments. imo, the internet is great for consumers, but it will be very hard to make money from it. e-commerce is a constant battle due to margin erosion - after all the competition is only a mouse-click away - and the other business model, which relies on advertising, is running into problems as well. click-through rates are plunging, and ad rates are plunging along with them. true, the growth in ad impressions is still impressive, and the growth of the net overall remains phenomenal. i tend to agree that over the longer term a few winners may emerge and prove to be worth a lot more than they are today...but contrary to the WS analysts who seem to be unanimous in who the leaders will be (based on the 'first mover advantage') i'm a lot less certain about that. after all, the barriers to entry are lower than in any other business.
as for the technical condition of the DOT, i am still of the opinion that it has made yet another bear market rally...admittedly a sharp one that has exceeded most people's (including my own) expectations.
that the upcoming holiday season will continue to push the nutz higher is the consensus opinion...we will see if it comes true. i don't want to dissuade you, i have been wrong on these stocks before, but that's the way i see it.

regards,

hb
