Cosmo,

Those were my thoughts exactly. Yes, send your note to Mike.

I am thinking a few things and will bounce them off you when I have a chance.

Thanks,

MileHigh

Not so far fetched when you think about it. If Dell would like to produce a hand held or lap top with wireless connectivity it could be a good fit. Imagine the new "Dell Hand Held" that also is a phone.

Not to throw water on all this interesting speculation, and (as I am not a Dellbert) someone correct me if I am wrong, but it was my understanding that Dell does not actually manufacture any of its portable (ie, laptop) systems itself - the Inspiron line is made by Copal (Taiwan), and the Latitude line by Acer (also Taiwan; could be wrong on this one). If so, there's no sense turning phone manufacture over to Michael D, since he's already decided others can do it better and cheaper than he can.

Interesting, though, that this is not highly publicized knowledge - goes to show that someone like Dell can have someone else do their dirty work and still reap glory in the name-recognition/branding game. This couldn't possibly have any bearing on Q's planning, could it?

assemblingly, not dissemblingly,
-Rose-

Yes. Your observation about a main use of lap tops is very perceptive.
