Don, you ask: < If you were CEO of Ampex and your stock was dropping what would you do?> I once had a boss that came onto the job having totally lied about his work experience (none) and about his education (none, claimed an MBA). He was an extremely likable fellow and knew how to motivate people to work their asses off. And he hired people who knew their jobs and had good educations. He did an absolutely astounding job and made the owner a pile. (Such a pile, in fact, that the company was bought out and the owner was fired, but by that time my friend was long gone.) In other words, to answer your question, being ignorant myself, I would hire the best talent I could afford. And that looks to me to be what Mr. Bramson, whom I do not consider a fool, is doing. I think your second question relates: You ask: < My major concern right now is our lack of Internet prowess. We only have Rudisill with any background in the web. Are people going to believe Ed is an Internet guru?> I think this is an easy to make misperception of what AXC is doing. They are really setting up the infrastructure for people who are Internet gurus to do their stuff. The network is not the show. It is the channel (or in my analogy the “magazine”) that will attract the investors, and the channels will be headed up by hot shots. The Advertiser may sponsor a channel or go together with other Advertisers to sponsor a channel. This means that Madison Avenue types (or “our” customers) will really be running the game. AXC is already one generation behind the scenes (behind iNEXTV) and my guess is that we will eventually think of that like a Television Network. When you think of CBS, you think of the programming, not the management.
