Do YOU know the difference?

The rest of us, when we speak of market share, are speaking of
percentage of market. Period. It's a simple concept. So show us all the markets where COMS is gaining market share. The point of this is to show where COMS is gaining or losing ground...relative to its competitors.

<Palm is gaining market share every day>

You mean "sales are increasing," don't you? I can't argue with you on that, and it makes me very happy. But you continue to misuse the term "market share."

You clearly have not exposed yourself to the basic terms one uses in business.

Market Share by definition is the percentage of a defined target market a company holds. If there is a $100B market and a company sold $50B of the equipment to that target market - that is a 50% market share. If the market grows to $200B and the company increases revenues to $80B they have lost market share - shrinking to 40%. Sales have increased 60% but the market has grown 100%!!! The company has not kept up with the market and has lost market share. This is typical of COMS and why they are valued so low.

Now, you get frustrated when you see valuations on CSCO. But go a look at how they gain market share in all target market areas. And, look at their consistent earnings and revenues... that is why CSCO commands a premium.
