The piece parts alone for the packaging have to be about $50, so that means their "profit" on those must be pretty thin. Why are they bothering? Why throw slow die into an expensive package and sell it at a loss?

If they can't predict bin splits at final electrical test at the end of the fab line, and must package the die to get true bin splits out of final test, it indicates their Fab process is out of control.
