I am getting a lesson in crowd panic mentality at this moment. The university campus where I am is at least 250 miles from any possible landfall for Hurrican Floyd, but at this moment people are running around and the buildings are emptying out, and the entire campus is supposedly already closed. There's nothing but a little rain outside and no high winds expected for many hours. People look at me as if I am a nut for staying in my office a few minutes longer. I expect we'll see something like that in the market after a while.
