Deadliest of negative hype:

"The Street is shorting FGI - big time. The Arb play is to short FGI here - into virtually no buying support. As with the new announcement - there is (or at least people think so) a "free" premium in HLX; so the "longs" are running into HLX (running to slaughter)..." etc. (SliderOnTheBlack, FGI, Yahoo, post 7149)

FGI : Insiders sales or not?

Slider, there is no true "insider sales" at least in the open market."Planned sale" does not necessarily mean an "insider sale" yet.

>>IF INSIDERS ARE MASSIVE SELLERS AT $10-12 into the face of an Oilpatch Boom...
>>
>> ...about 3.5 Million shares sold by insiders since XMAS - out of a 11 Million share float !!!

I see that JL "disposed" (coded Z, i.e. Deposit Into or Withdrawal From Voting Trust) of 650,000 of his approximately 8 Million shares. I doubt that he actually sold them cause at the time (1-Feb-99) FGI was trading at a low of $10 and he strikes me as more astute than that. I suspect that tax wise it was just a smart time to move those shares in order to reduce capital gains.

Other than that I see no insider sales, let alone any indication that ...INSIDERS ARE MASSIVE SELLERS... Am I missing something? It looks to me like you are making loud, vociferous, misleading statements Slider. It certainly makes me wonder what your motive is (don't bother, I am not gay, not that I understand what that has to do with any of this <vbg>).

Our rig fleet is old and has had no significant additions in years. The demand for oil over the next decade is going to be dramatic, especially in the face of continued depletion of existing fields. The current fleet is neither large enough in number nor sophisticated enough in design to accomplish the drilling which will be required. I have read estimates that in the next decade we will need to bring online another 500 rigs in order to meet demand.

I don't care to guess what will happen to FGIs share price in the short term, but I feel comfortable with a chunk of my portfolio invested in "the go to yard."
