.Trev, FYI, Author: Sierra Cat -- Date:1999-09-15 08:25:41 Subject: Conflicting Rumours Bad news good news? Neither is substantiated, but the murmurs this morning are of a further delay in approvals, but this comes hand in hand with indications that certain critical infrastructure contracts are presently undergoing construction. Strange, in that the fuel storage and distribution infrastructure that are said to be in construction were also said to be the sticking point leading to delays indicated in early summer, and confirmed with the feasibility. Now, tank farms and distribution facilities can't go into place without the approvals, so whats the game now? WillP, any insights? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Top Reply Author: Sierra Cat -- Date:1999-09-15 09:04:09 Subject: Confirmed, both counts! So it is either buy a good opportunity, or sell a dying resource economy! You choose. The next thing that worries me, however, is December tax loss selling. It might hammer her back a bit. That's when I intend on hopping back on board. I brought this to the threads attention last December....Me thinks Diavik will be delayed for a while longer....perhaps Diavik could arrange for Ekati's fuel allocation after they are finished mining about 25 years down the road from now eh:-))Allow for a truck every 15 minutes on a 24 hour per day basis while the winter road is open. Then subtract the number of loads going to Ekati. There are not enough fuel and material loads left for Diavik by my calculations. Its simple logistics. regards, teevee PS: I also don't think there is enough tankage in Hay River to stage enough fuel for both Ekati, the city of Yellowknife and Diavik. There are also constraints on how much fuel can bew railed to Hay River.
