What you say? You want me to think? Wow! O.K., I'm game.
(Thanks for assuming that I was capable.)

"Who would want to buy this division?" Good question. Why would any competitor buy something that is a drag on your earnings, unless, you could by magic, improve margins.

As for the "quick in", it could be. Who? Good question. It is a big world though. It may be more of a 'quick out' for Q than anything.

"i'm also not sure how failing in this business is a sign of great management as some have gushed lately."

Maybe I have it wrong, but labeling it as a failure just because margins aren't as high as some would like is a stretch? The competition is fierce, and always has been. I'm glad it has come as far as it has. But then again, I'm "probably not a CEO", so what do I know? Just a novice fool am I!

Gosh, you're making my Demoral numb neurons tired. I guess we will all see if the "gushing" has substance or not.

Q rocks. It is just a matter of time...

i understand that there is too much money in the market chasing too few stocks...

You are kidding, right? I find so much opportunity in exploding tech companies, the hardest part of investing is to stay focused on the best of the best.

the number of folks seriously interested has to be few indeed

-bidding war is underway w/strong candidates who NEED QC to leapfrog ahead & compete w/Nokia etc... <mp>
-likely candidates look like either Siemens or Philips
<mp>

i'm also not sure how failing in this business is a sign of great management

The accelerated divestiture is a tactical move within their strategy. "More and more, the rest of the world is going to look to them for their chipsets" -Jonathan Burns

The market agrees.
