Meeting Overview, from Yahoo Post>

results of NY analyst mtg today

Just spoke to my contact in NY, who was at the conference.

*QC's plans to sell whole handset division (not just mfr portion) by year-end..not a spinoff or partnership
e.g. LWIN.
*Negotiations with SEVERAL suitors are still underway; no deal yet.
*QC expects 4th qtr earnings to meet or exceed (looked really good there)
*QC wants not just top dollar, but top strategy for spread of CDMA throughout global market.
*QC strategy will be weight of its current market share to that of today's 3rd or 4th runner, to enhance
competition & spread of CDMA
*Pie-chart showed top handset mfrs:Nokia, Ericy, MOT, Siemens, Philips.
*Selling handset div to biggest dogs (i.e.Nokia, Ericy or MOT) might not be best for CDMA & therefore
slow the spread of 3G CDMA throughout Europe/China. (And why would those guys need such a deal
w/QC? They buy our chipsets already)

my thoughts:
-no firm $ale news here is still great news:QC is going to focus on what it does best-the develop. & spread
of its technology,IPR w/resultant royalties
-QC departure from mfr side phone-making is imminent; not whether but: when? to whom? for how much?
-strong impression that a specific deal is almost *done*
-bidding war is underway w/strong candidates who NEED QC to leapfrog ahead & compete w/Nokia etc.
-year end goal for sale will allow uninterrupted pre-holiday rollout of PCS thin phones (800MHz, 1.9Ghz &
upcoming QCP 2760(?)
-likely candidates look like either Siemens or Philips, imo

regards to all; go QC longs!
