Jay, from what I know the Nasdaq/OTC and pink sheets do not work
like most markets. The market is made by market makers and low
ask or high bids are not necessarily filled when trading is thin.

Market Makers are basically securities firms that use their own capital to buy and maintain inventory of a particular stock, then resell that stock into the market. If an investor wishes to buy a particular stock on the NASDAQ, the order is sent to a Marker Maker, who fills the order from their existing inventory of that stock. The Marker Maker then makes money on the "spread," which is the difference in the value at which they purchased the
stock, and the value at which they sold the stock.

Orders can go at whim to these market makers at times.
Quite often they will move the market up or down to create
volume as that is their main interest. Quite often the market
will move one way or another depending how long or short
the market maker/makers are.

Companies who have only two or three Market Makers do not get
the same activity as those with more makers. Also, companies who do not have big name Market Makers, such as Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley or Goldman Sachs, may also not command the
attention and trading activity to make them successful.
Market Makers undertake other roles such
as sponsorship of companies. The importance of having a good is seen also in their ability to attract attention to a particular stock. Market Makers may write research reports and increase the level of exposure in the marketplace for the companies they trade.

If a stock has good market makers and a lot of them the trading
functons pretty well. In the case of AMCX, I would say the
number of market makers has thinned out or interest lost since
they have slipped to the pink sheets. I have not heard from
AMCX yet on the status of becoming full reporting and getting
back as an OTC bulletin board stock, but a lot
of this timing is influenced by the pace of Nasdaq.

This is what I have for the last 5 days trading, but the
service I have only shows actual trades for OTC listed
stocks but not pink sheets.
