Slider - The average age of the offshore fleet is 18 years old. If drillers want a higher day rate it will be because of new rigs and new tech.,not for old rusting junk. The rig fleet would be doing itself a great service by scraping the old rigs. I believe Matt Simmons briefly touched on this subject in one of his papers. I don't own FGI but I can tell you when I read boards that get a bit out of control on the downside the bottom is close at hand

OT No, Slider, you blew it: I do not have a beard (ah! but actually you envisioned moustache, right?), I do not smoke, and my physical size is just not what you said. And even with Volvo, you actually half blew it also because it looks like new (what color and model it is, BTW?). As for your posts, Slider, they are truly unique like no one else's, and in many ways they are great. But you so often let your inspiration and passion to carry you away. This carries away as well a lot of people who read you and like you. Then you call them "sheep".. Well.. although Christ also called his followers sheep.. and every pastor has a "flock", but they are, and were, never wrong.. while you tend to be, every so often, not totally right.. By the way, "almighty" is spelled with one "l". And enough of that. ag

Slider, ol boy.... 1) "It is not that I hate FGI, or don't think that they are indeed perhaps the very best in the business at what they do - they are ! But, if the "pie" shrinks by 1/3rd, or 1/2, or 2/3rds - it no longer matters how good you are !" Agreed...I know some INCREDIBLE musicians without a market...sleeping on floors... 2) But, how do you reconcile the large short action on FGI as "someone knows something" with the position on RRC where you reckon the shorts as taking a foolish position? 3) How can you be prediction a 3 point bounce of FGI to 12 when it is currently at 11 7/16? 4) I think we need to carry your "don't ask don't tell" policy to MEXP so some of us who are "victims" and "sheep" won't get taken advantage of..... CPS
