I'll have to check that response. TICK is one of the few place I don't use BBs. I can't see the point on an oscillator.

I use TICK "pure", i.e. no MAs, no BBs, no nada.

Regarding candles, you don't have to do the ISpec pattern thing. I read all the candle books and couldn't tell you a harami from a hanging man.

Their value is as a visual tool. They push a lot more information into your brain than simple bars do because of the ability to display the time relationship between the open and close of the bar. They are most valuable at reversal points, where the hammers and dojis (about the only two I know) "finger" and swing in a new direction. That reveals a important reversal in the next lower time frame than the one with the candle.
