The law regards intent as an essential element. Her argument (which I actually thought was progress for her) is purely clinical in nature and disregards circumstances and intent. There is both a legal and an ethical obligation for parents to care for helpless children. No such obligations exist for sibling organ donors.

OK, we'll have to agree to disagree. But I believe I have made my point, that pro-lifers are not absolute in their convictions, no matter what they say. I am trying to nail you on the act of abortion and why it is wrong vs. other life and death issues that are accepted in our culture. You keep coming back to "somebody had sex and shouldn't have", in an attempt to avoid the issue of why abortion is wrong. I have asked this question of others and usually I get no response, so I'll give you credit in at least replying.

<<sex is by nature a means of reproduction, if you want to use it for recreation>>

Does that mean I can't have sex with my wife who has had a hysterectomy and can no longer get pregnant?
