That was interesting, thanks a bunch. Could you answer just a couple of questions? "-- EDGE is not and cannot be an evolution to CDMA" EDGE is meant to be part of the TDMA evolution to W-CDMA; I don't get this comment. How can Qualcomm define TDMA's evolutionary path? The company will never sell TDMA network gear, TDMA handsets, W-CDMA network gear or W-CDMA handsets. So why are they discussing TDMA and EDGE? "-- CDMA is only wireless technology that is internet capable" What I'm interested in is this: were any of the analysts aware that they were being subjected to San Diego Mind Warp? Wasn't there even one remotely competent person in the room? Somebody who knew that GSM internet phones debuted in 1996 and mobile data transfer speed goes to 38 kbps this month in the first GSM network? Or did they all just smile and hum little "Go, Brain, Go" jingles? Tell me the truth, chaz... no matter how gruesome. "-- Sulpizio said book-to-bill ratio on ASIC orders wouldn't be as strong this quarter as past 2 quarters, which were "phenomenal"" This is the key, isn't it? Now that Qualcomm is essentially an IPR/chipset company - how badly is the chipset market share slipping? If Nokia/Motorola get 25% of the CDMA phone market by next spring, Qualcomm's chipset share would sink below 70% at that point. Is that the floor or the ceiling? Were there any follow-up questions? "-- Dr. Jacobs talked about China -- continuing negotiation; China trying to negotiate best possible royalty rates, not yet acceptable to Q; Q won't go after China unless good royalty rates for Q" I loved this part - Dr. J. has those crafty Chinese over the barrel!
