RRanney, there are proofs of various events: relics; archeological findings; dug up instruments; buried cities; archeological findings. It is called history. You keep saying there is no absolute proof of evolution. Evolution is not primarly an experimental science, however, but an historical science. By the same standard, there is no absolute proof of any historical fact. Evolution, as a fact, either generally happened the way biologists say it did, or it didn't. The Civil War, or the Pellopenisian War, or any other historical event, either happened or it did not. How can you prove the Civil War happened? There are apparently those who doubt that the Holocaust happened, where millions of persons were killed in the gas chambers in Germany during WWII. Now either that happened or it didn't. I believe that it did happen, as I believe that the US Civil War actually happened. But what proof do YOU have that they did? You weren't there. You didn't see it. You haven't talked to anyone who did see it. Your proof that the Civil War happened is more or less of the same kind as the proof that evolution happened on Earth over the past several billion years. Evolution, IS an historical fact, and not a theory, just as much as the Civil War is an historical fact, and not a theory. Why don't you speak of "the theory of the Civil War", in which some scholars postulate that some years ago in the US, there was a war between the states, etc, etc. No, it is either fact, or fiction. I say evolution is fact, and the proof of the fact that all life forms present on the earth today evolved from only one beginning life form, is as solid and sound as the proof that the US Civil War happened.
