I believe you are correct that a parent has no legal obligation to sustain an invasive procedure to his own body in order to save the life of his child. (Perhaps a lawyer may want to weigh in here.)

Regardless, that is not the proper analogy. The proper analogy would be pulling the plug on a life support system. You see, a baby growing in a womb is akin to a small human on a life support system. And, of course, it would be improper and illegal to terminate a life support system for no medical reason.

You confuse sustenance with invasion when you compare pregnancy to organ transplant.
