2. Bonobo chimp
3. Pongo chimp
4. Gorilla
5. Orang Utan

I can see definite progress here.

You are missing the point.

There is no implied evolutionary superiority, merely a relationship
on the primate twig of the evolutionary bush

Your points in another post regarding a balanced curiculum are well
taken. Can you see this happening in Kansas?

I understood the issue here was teaching dogma as science.
In my parochial school the two were clearly seperated via Religious Studies, Social Studies, History, Biology and Chemistry.

what percent increase in their gene capacitance
It's not a matter of how many genes are present which leads to a trait like intelligence. It's not that the Bonobos don't have enough genes to be as smart as we, it's just that they have the wrong ones. They can't just go out to the 7/11 and order up some new genes, they have to come from their parents (with possible additions from infection or mutation). A billion years from now the various intelligent decendant species are going laugh and laugh that we thought that just because we were the first to be self aware - we would also be the only.
