Dennis, I have known of several instances in which people asserted in no uncertain terms that they were gay or lesbian, and within a couple of years were with a partner of the opposite sex, not because of any pressure, but because they had fallen for someone else. It is easy to say that they were just bisexuals who were mistaken in their judgment, but in at least a couple of instances, they had asserted the "gay from birth" theory, although it involved dismissing signs that did not point in that direction. It was obvious, in these cases, that the assertion that they couldn't help it resolved an internal conflict about having acted upon a same- sex crush. Therefore, I am leery of testimony along these lines....
