oh brother! Reading the hype of some individuals who favor specific "Direct Access brokers" confuses many on this point IMO. now i have heard everything

Hi scanshift; Your statements: Speed and quality of order execution among "Direct Access brokers" for aggressive daytraders is a lot more consistent among the top dozen direct access brokers than you may think. and In my opinion, the main priority for aggressive daytraders is controlling commission costs. are completely correct, I believe. I have no doubt that this is true, not only for experienced traders, but also for the neophytes. People starting out in this business need to look at it as a business, and not with the delusions of immense wealth that clouds the vision of beginners. Scalpers are lucky to make a dime per share, so a good commission schedule is critical to survival. -- Carl
