KZNerd, <This whole controvercy is over the fact that Intel is trying to force the transistion now! So now you say perhaps it is too much for the industry to handle at the moment?>

I never meant it that way. I meant that Intel isn't as gung ho about RDRAM as it used to be. That's the reason behind the move toward PC133 support. The new Coppermine processor will be paired up with PC100, PC133, and RDRAM.

This, in my opinion, is the right move, although when Intel first announced "consideration" of PC133, RMBS price plummetted. Now the transition to RDRAM can occur a lot more smoothly for the industry.

I'm confident that if DDR SDRAM support makes sense and the market demands it, Intel will support that as well. But unlike RDRAM, Intel can take a back-seat role in DDR support. (Unfortunately, the minute Intel mentions the three letters 'DDR', RMBS stock price will drop five points in five minutes.)
